Backland ILF Limbs

A great friend, mentor, and archery ambassador who's worked hard to advance the sport once described the Backland ILF limbs better than I ever could: "an American archery legacy company."

Backland Archery is proud to build longbow and recurve limbs on the same formers and constructed the way they were designed by an industry pioneer named Earl Hoyt. Smooth, consistent, dependable, and efficient, these limbs define, "if ain't broke, don't fix it."

Backland limbs are proudly hand made and finished in Michigan, where archery runs deep - every step, from start to finish. As avid outdoor Michigander, I want to highlight what the Mitten State has to offer. Natural Series limbs will use Michigan hardwood veneers under clear glass, often comprised of maple (Birdseye, Curly, Spalted, and Quilted), ash, elm, and osage; stained or natural. Stealth Series limbs will use solid color glass. Custom Shop Series limbs are everything else - exotic veneers, camo under clear glass, etc. - you name it! All limbs feature bamboo cores for their perfect blend of performance, feel on the shot, and reliability; and carbon or g10 reinforced tip overlays to support high performance bowstring materials.

Backland is honored to keep the tradition of high performing, American-made ILF limbs alive.
